Because the author described a positive paint in which we have the advanced medical science and we all are healthier than before. The average life-expectancy has been increased significantly by all sorts of amelioration. Great changes have been taken placed in our new world. We have enough money to do what we want to. Moreover, the human’s quality is generally high. Everyone can do some beneficent things by the advanced technology to help others. 2. In Para. 4, why does the author say that he possibly will not be gone by the time the reader read this letter? Because there is enough advanced technology and equipments in hospital to prolong the author’s life. He can be transplanted a pig liver, titanium hips and knees, artificial heart, and so on. 3. The essay can be roughly divided into several sections: how do you divide it up? I think the essay can be divided 6 paragraphs. The first section is 1-5, in this section the writer imagined a living environment around us after 100 years. the second is 6-12 and the author described some facts of our world, the third is13-16 in which describe several changes have been taken in some aspects such as theater, music, humor, nation, and so on, the fourth is 17-29, and it explained our expand in the future, the fifth is 30-44, this section the writer described we are separated from each other by the development, and we should recognize the bad consequence, and the last section is 45-49, the author hoped we should make our world better. 4. The author uses many ironies in this essay. Could you cite any? The author used many satiric sentences such as half the country is fat, half low-fat. Butter and eggs, once out, are in; I suppose you have tossed them out again. He want to tell us that butter is considered as a harm factor to let people suffer
