The lead integrity suite consists of two algorithms which alert the patient and clinic (via Carelink) of the potential for lead noise and lead failure and withhold therapy Lead Integrity Alert is already available. RV Lead Integrity Alert provides advance warning for lead fracture and extends the VF detection time to 30/40 beats. This algorithm monitors the lead impedance, the new episode log called High-Rate NS, and short interval counter and produces an audible alert and a CareAlert. This allows for advanced warning of potential lead fractures so that the patient can seek medical attention and reduce the risk of receiving a shock. However, it does not withhold therapy. RV Lead Noise Discrimination identifies oversensing due to noise artifacts and withholds therapy without compromise of VT/VF detection sensitivity. It does so by validating the near field signal (such as RVtip/RVring) to a far field signals (such as Can/RVcoil). Sensed events with no corresponding activity on far-field electrogram are indicative of oversensing. True VT/VF is confirmed by analyzing sensed events to activity on the far-field electrogram.
