Sometimes the IS and IT Strategies are combined. However, in general a customer should have: - A business vision that defines breakthrough objectives and identifies key business processes - An IS vision that defines its future application portfolio and IS topology (relationships) - An IT strategy that discusses, at the highest level, how the IT principles will be realized. The IS Strategy supports the business and IS Strategies. An IT architecture defines and describes the technology framework and high level components that make it possible to implement the IS and Business Strategies. * The customers strategies indicate capabilities, at high level. These should be reviewed before you perform an IT Assessment. If it is a standalone service engagement, then you must assess the implications of the strategies before scoping the IT Assessment service engagement. If you cannot assess and verify the strategies and their output, you must, at a min, assess business and user needs.
