Language points 1. We’re better at preventing illness. 我们更擅长于疾病的预防。 1) be better at是短语be good at的比较级形式。如： I am better at English than maths. 我英语比数学学得好。 2) prevent 意为“预防；防止”，常用于prevent sb. (from) doing sth.结构。 e.g. My mum often prevents me from going out at night. 母亲经常阻止我晚上出去。 2. I suppose that’s because public transport is much better today. 1) suppose作动词，意为“认为；猜想”，其后可跟that引导的宾语从句，也可跟带不定式的复合结构，其中不定式主要是to be形式。 e.g. I suppose (that) he will be back by eight o’clock. 我想他8点以前会回来。 I suppose him to be at home. 我想他在家。 They suppose her to be a doctor. 他们猜想她是一名医生。 2) 在“I suppose + that引导的宾语从句”中, 对从句否定时, 否定要前移, 类似think, believe, guess等动词的用法。 e.g. I don’t suppose I’ll trouble you again. 我想我不会再来打扰你了。 3) “be supposed to + 动词原形”常用来表示主语应该做某事（相当于should + 动词原形），其人称、时态和数的变化在be动词上体现。如： You are supposed to / should clean the outside of the window. 你应该把窗户外面擦干净。 请用suppose的适当形式填空。 1.
