Module1 My First Day at Senior High Reading and Vocabulary 一、教学目标、方法和手段概述 课 题 My First Day at Senior High 课 型 Reading Vocabulary 目 标 要 求 知识目标 To learn: 1. New words: academic, enthusiastic, amazing, amazing, instruction, method, attitude, impress, previous, etc. 2. Phrases: be enthusiastic about, one’s attitude towards/to, impress sb. with sth. be covered with, in other words, look forward to, nothing like, have fun, far from, etc. 3. Stylistic Features: Introduction of a place. 能力目标 To train: 1. Fast reading skills, such as skimming, scanning careful reading 2. Working cooperatively with others 情感态度价值观 To arouse students: 1. Know more about their new school, class, teachers and classmates. 2. Cooperation with others. 教学重难点 1. Full understanding of the text by using different reading skills. 2. Learn the new words phrases (see the above). To develop the students’ reading strategy. Lead the students to talk in class actively. 教学方法 任务型教学思路:以学生活动为主,在活动中学习和应用所学的语言知识。 教学手段 多媒体教学 二、教学流程设计 Step1 Self-introduction and lead-in As this is the first English class in Senior High, I am fresh to the students. Therefore, it is quite necessary for me to introduce myself to the students and get then to introduce themselves to me. A sample: Hello, everybody! I am your new English teacher. It’s twenty-one years since I came to this school from Qufu Normal University. In my spare time, I like reading books, listening to music and walking. I like my job and I love my students. I hope you’ll like me and enjoy my class. Then I will ask them to introduce themselves in groups of four so that they may get acquainted with each other. (Write some drills on the blackboard to help them) 1. My name is… 2. I come from… 3. I like/am fond of/love/enjoy… 4. I’m an easy-going/… person. 5. I hope/believe/want/think… Once the introduction is done, I will introduce the content we’ll learn in this class to them. Say to them: The reading passage is a school diary of a newcome
