Department of Ophthalmology, Gansu Provincial Hospital, Lanzhou 730000, Gansu Province, China. summliu@ 126. com Received:2016-01-29摇 摇 Accepted:2016-04-08 Abstract 誗 AIM: To investigate the relation of mean platelet volume(MPV), neutrophil - to - lymphocyte ratio(NLR) with diabetic retinopathy ( DR ) in patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus. 誗METHODS: Medical records of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus admitted to our hospital from February 2013 to July 2015 were retrospectively reviewed. Their clinical characteristics, such as MPV and NLR, were extracted. Ninety - six healthy individuals were set as a control. The relation of MPV, NLR with DR were analyzed using logistic regression model. 誗RESULTS:A total of 379 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were included in this study. Among these patients, DR was observed in 51 patients(102 eyes) with DR and 328 patients were without DR. Patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus had significantly higher MPV and NLR, compared with healthy controls. Among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus, the patients with DR had significantly higher MPV and NLR than the patients without DR. After confounders such as disease duration and hypertension were adjusted, MPV10fl and NLR2. 6 were independently associated with DR. 誗 CONCLUSION: Increased MPV and
