Round Four. 一般过去时(The Simple Past Tense) 主要表示 一般过去时，要用动词过去式。除了be动词的过去式有人称和数的变化外，其余动词无人称和数的变化。 通常句子中会出现一些表示过去的时间状语。如： a moment ago, just now, this morning, yesterday, last week/year/night/… two days ago, three hours ago, in 1998, … 一个过去发生的动作，或者是过去存在的状态。也表示过去习惯的动作。 动词过去式有规则和不规则两种。 动词过去式的形式： A 规则动词的过去式，词尾变化有以下四种。 a)一般情况下，直接在词尾加ed.如：wash---washed, look---looked; b)以不发音字母e结尾的，加d.如：like---liked, dance---danced; c)以“辅音字母+y”结尾的，变y为i再加ed.如：study---studied; d)以“一个元音字母+一个辅音字母”结尾，该音节又重读的，末尾字母要双写，再加ed.如：stop---stopped, chat---chatted.
