Know how to get the main idea and the key information by scanning. 3. Learn to deal with difficulties bravely by inspired from Hawking’s experience and spirit. (1.Knowledge Objective; 2.Ability Objective; 3.Moral Objective.) 4.Important Points: 1. Help the students learn Hawking’s story and new words; 2. Develop the students’ reading skills. 5. Difficult Points: 1. Instruct students to understand the difficult words and sentences ; 2. Help students use the words to describe a person and the information to make a summary. 6.Teaching Methods: Task-based Teaching and Situational Language Teaching methods. 7.Teaching Aids: PPT, blackboard, chalk 8.Teaching Procedures: ◆Lead-in (5 mins) The teacher asks students to look at the learning goals first and let students know what they are going to learn in this lesson. Then the teacher begins with a guessing game to arouse students’ interest and introduce the topic. Questions: Who is the person? What is it? Who is he? ◆While reading (20 mins) Step1. Fast-reading The teacher shows main ideas to the students and asks them to find the key words and then students will read the text quickly and match each paragraph with its correct main idea. Step2.
