She always dresses strangely, makes up strangely and behaves strangely. And rat, Cinnamon is her best friend. She loves playing Ukulele and enjoys dancing in the rain. She sings “Happy Birthday” to kids she has never met. She shows us her true self. In the beginning, she is too weird for other students to stay with. But soon her popularity soars when students becomes accustomed to her eccentricities. However, when her school team fail in the basketball match, she is blamed for her cheering for both teams. In the meantime, All the students begin to hate the behaviors of Stargirl again. Although Stargirl tries to change herself to be “normal”, she is isolated even she wins the state public speaking competition for school after that. The Stargirl is bitterly disappointed and goes back to being herself. At last, she leaves with the Cinnamon and Ukulele. I feel complex after reading this book. I have thought a lot and come to one thing: This book is just a fable and Sargirl is not real. Maybe someone will say Stargirl is cool, but in my opinion, I think she is childish. Of course, she is special, but it is obvious that she haven’t leant how to get along well with others. She is too pure to exist in this real society. Maybe we can understand and appreciate her, but she is still far from with us and we can’t touch her. As the ordinary people, we can have a little personality, but just a little, I think, only if you make sure that you won’t be isolated by others. On the other hand, for some people, maybe they couldn’t live their selves, but they could stay well with others.
