Games Teaching in China and Canada
中加游戏教学对比研究
内容提要: 兴趣是最好的教师,而游戏是儿童最喜欢的,最乐意接受的教学方式。英语游戏教学正符合小学生的生理和心理特点,有助与调动学生学习积极性、主动性,从而提高教学效率。所谓游戏教学法就是在教学中尽可能将枯燥的语言现象转变为学生乐于接受的、生动有趣的游戏形式,为学生创设良好的学习英语的氛围,使学生玩中学,学中玩。本文通过对加拿大和中国一些典型游戏的比较,说明了游戏在教学中的巨大作用,并对英语课堂游戏的设计与组织及教学原则作一探索。

Abstract: The interest is the best teacher. The games are the best choice for the young students to learn. Because games cater to the physical and mental characteristics of children, which can help students learn well. Through the comparison in Canadian and Chinese games and some typical examples, I analyze the importance of games in English teaching. At the same time, I list Performance Assessment.

As a new primary school teacher, I am proud to enter SuOn College to have training for two months. I have learned many useful strategies for class teaching, especially about games.
I just talk about games in details to support my view.
Nowadays games are growing in popularity in English teaching class, because good games can engage student interest and lead into further study. Especially those cooperative games can do more than give students practice in group work. They can build skills in cooperation and free students to become engaged in learning.
Were there no games, our class would be completely different from what it is now.
1 Games Classification
Games can be divided into four types according to the content. They are Vocabulary Games, Pronunciation Games, Structural Games and Role Playing Games. Let me talk about them one by one.
1.1 Vocabulary Games
In China, Flash Cards and Magic Eyes are good bets in class. Take Flash Cards for example. Teacher points to or rearranges a series of objects and students are required to react to them very quickly. A visual can be worth a thousand words. It provides constant reinforcement of the vocabulary needed to understand the lesson. Another case is Magic Eyes. Students love
