References……………………………………………………………… Acknowledgement……………………………………………………… Developing Students’ EQ in the Senior English Teaching under NSE Abstract: with the implementation of the quality-oriented education and the development of the new curriculum reformation, the affection has been listed into the teaching goals, and the EQ development has been a focus of the curriculum reformation. Therefore, the EQ factors play important roles in the classroom teaching. This paper, by discussing the background of the new standard English (NSE) and the reasons for developing students’ EQ in the senior English teaching under NSE, mainly deals with the EQ factors --- anxiety, motivation, inhibition, self-esteem, empathy, classroom transactions and cross-culture process, and further explore ways to improve the English teaching in order to improve the efficiency of both English teaching and learning.
