Teammates:段宇航 吉泽程 李超然 叶飞宇 Iron is a mineral found in every cell of the body vital for mental and physical wellbeing a condition in which blood lacks adequate healthy red blood cells, which carry oxygen to tissues. feel tired and often look pale. Reasons that I need iron If your body lacks iron, it cannot make enough hemoglobin(血红蛋白 ) Iron boosts your immune system, helping fight infections, and is vital for normal growth and intellectual development in children Iron is also needed for optimum brain function in adults. symptoms lack energy or the skin may be pale more tired physically weak unable to concentrate have headaches more prone to infections heart pain or angina be irritable easily Groups of people at higher risk Girls and women Infants and children Athletes Vegetarians Because their bodies store less iron and they lose blood during menstruation. Infants who dont get enough iron in their milk may risk deficiency. Children need extra iron during growth spurts. Iron is lost through excessive sweating Iron in plant foods is not as easily absorbed as that in meat, so vegetarians may get too little iron. Iron-rich foods in your diet meat and fish: beef, lamb, veal, pork, poultry, mussels, oysters, sardines and tuna fruits: dried fruits such as prunes, figs, raisins, currants, peaches and prune and blackberry juice vegetables: greens (spinach, silverbeet, lettuce), beans and peas, pumpkin and sweet potatoes grains: oatmeal, iron-fortified breakfast cereals and wholegrain breads.
