Man-made wonders of the world The Great Wall of China The Great Wall of China is one of the wonders of the world. It is one of the few man-made objects on earth that can be seen on the moon. It dates from about 770 BC. It is more than 6000 kilometres long, 6-7 metres high and 4-5 metres wide. All the work was done by hand. Many people were forced to work on the wall. Now the Great Wall has become a place of interest. We all know the famous Chinese saying: “He who does not reach the Great Wall is not a true man.” The statues on Easter Island Easter Island is over 2,000 miles from the nearest population center, (Tahiti and Chile), making it one of the most isolated places on Earth. A triangle of volcanic rock in the South Pacific - it is best known for the giant stone monoliths, known as Moai, that dot the coastline. The early settlers called the island Te Pito O Te Henua (Navel of The World). Admiral Roggeveen, who came upon the island on Easter Day in 1722, named it Easter Island. Today, the land, people and language are all referred to locally as Rapa Nui. The Tiffel Tower The Eiffel Tower is in Paris. Its the symbol of Paris.Nobody will miss the chance to visit it when he arrives in Paris.Its 300.51 meters in height. It is made of iron and it is about 700 tons in weight. Therere 1665 steps to the top. It took 300 workers 2 years to complete it. It was finished in 1889. Its a famous architecture in the world. The Roman Colosseum The Roman Colosseum is a giant amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome. Originally capable of seating 45,000–50,000 spectators, it was used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. It was built on a site just east of the Roman Forum, with construction starting between 70 and 72 AD under the emperor Vespasian. The amphitheatre, the largest ever built in the Roman Empire, was completed in 80 AD under Titus, with further modifications being made during Domitians reign.[ The end Thank you
