This checklist and illustrative photographs are provided to assist in identifying intercepted specimens of whiteflies. ? All rights reserved.Introduction Whiteflies (Aleyrodidae) are a group of tiny, phytophagous insects usually 1~3 mm in length. The amount of plant material imported from other countries has increased dramatically. As a result, the number of insects intercepted at the various ports of entry in Korea has also increased. Whiteflies present a special challenge to regulatory efforts since they are of economic importance as direct feeders and/or vectors of plant viruses and are often difficult to detect.
