B: And fewer cars. There’s too much traffic. A: Say, is that our bus coming? B: Yes, it is. But look it’s full. A: Oh, no! Let’s go and get a cup of coffee. We can talk about this letter I’m going to write. Part 2 Listen to the rest of the conversation. What else is wrong with the transportation system in their city? B: So, are you really going to write a letter to the paper? A: Sure. I’m going to say something about the buses. They’re too old. We need more modern buses …nice, air-condition ones. B: And they need to put more buses on the road. A: Right. And there are too many cars downtown and there isn’t enough parking. B: That’s for sure. It’s impossible to find parking space downtown these days. A: I think they should ban private cars between nine and five. B: Oh, you mean they shouldn’t allow any cars except taxis and buses during the regular workday. Hmm….that sounds like a really good idea. Topic: My Dad drives me to school in the morning and I go home by bus by myself in the afternoon. Compared to public transportations like bus and subway, I prefer driving cars, because in such a big city like Beijing, travelling by car is fast and comfortable. It’s usually crowded on buses and subway trains. I hate to stand among a crowd of passengers with a heavy bag on my back when I go back from school. 　　However, the traffic conditions are awful in Beijing. We can see traffic jams everywhere in rush hours. I think that there are too many cars on the road. And more cars burn more gas and increase problems with acid rain(酸雨) and air pollution. Since there are so many cars, parking has become a serious problem.
