Teaching Plan Speech For Module 8 Public Holidays Unit 1 It’s the last day before the new school year begins. Part I Analysis of the Teaching Material 1. Status and Function The main idea of this module is talking about public holidays including the dates, different celebrating ways in different countries. This is an important topic for the language learners. I plan to finish this unit in one period. Listening material in this unit is about Independence Day in America. Activity three is conversation about May Day in China, America and England. All the activities in this unit are helpful to raise students’ learning interest. They can get a better understanding of the English-speaking countries’ culture; meanwhile it can deepen their love for their own country and its culture. As a whole, this topic can help develop students’ culture awareness and cross-culture communicative skills. So it is very important to learn this unit well. 2. Analysis of the students Students of their age are very active. In and out of the class, students work in groups to look up some information and solve problems together. They have strong thirsty for knowledge and like to be challenged. 3.
