第四学时　Grammar ;it的用法(Ⅰ) 1．人称代词it：主要指刚提到的事物，以避免重复。在某些交际用语中，it用以确定一个人的身份。 They watched the train until it disappeared in the distance.(it指代 the train) 他们看着火车，直到它消失在远方。 Her babys due next month.She hopes it will be a boy.(it指婴儿，尤指性别不详时) 她的孩子下个月将出世了，她希望是个男孩。 “Who was that at the door？” “It was a man selling house insurance.” (it 指代a man selling house insurance) 门口的那个人是谁？销售住房保险的。;2．非人称代词it：it有时不指具体的东西，而泛指天气、时间、环境、距离等。 Its over 200 miles from London to Manchester. 从伦敦到曼彻斯特有200多英里。 Its getting competitive in the car industry. 汽车工业方面的竞争日益加剧。 If its convenient，I can see you tomorrow. 要是方便的话，我明天可以见你。 3．先行代词it：it 可以指代较长的主语放在句首。 (1)it代表不定式充当形式主语。 In fact it is a hard job for the police to keep order in an important football match. 事实上警察在重大比赛中维持好秩序是很难的一项工作。;(2)it代表动名词充当形式主语。 It is no use crying over spilt milk.
