Abstract
HPLC-UV method for the analysis of residual Dufulin [O, O’-diethyl-α-(4-methyl
benzothiazole-2-ylamino)-(2-fluorophenyl)phosphonate] from soil and tobacco was developed.
Residues of Dufulin were extracted from soil (tobacco) matrix with acetone(acetone/petroleum
ether), purified by liquid-liquid extraction and Floristl cartridges, and then determined by HPLC
with UV detector. The minimum detectable amount of Dufulin was 2×10-10 g, the minimum
detectable concentration of Dufulin in the samples of soil (tobacco) were 0.01 mg/kg. The
average recovery from the soil and tobacco samples was 75.1~120.8% while coefficient of
variation was found to be 1.6~13.4%, meeting requirements for pesticide residue analysis. In the
field studies conducted at Guizhou and Shandong Province respectively, when Dufulin dose was
applied twice to that recommended for maximum usage (1000 g.a.i/ha 30% Dufulin wettable
powder sprayed for once during development of tobacco), the residual Dufulin level collected
from the samples after 21d of application was found to be 0.31 mg/kg (0.70 mg/kg) in soil
(tobacco). The result showed that the half life of 30% Dufulin wettable powder in soil was
10.0~12.9 days, in tobacco was 4.1~6.0 days.
