Ⅱ.阅读理解 A (2013·东莞高二检测) Sleepless Children More Likely to Suffer from Heart Disease MONTREAL-Children who dont get enough sleep are more likely to suffer from heart disease,researchers say,while sleep disorders in teenagers are climbing. As researchers at the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress in Montreal reported on the detrimental effects of lack of sleep on children on Tuesday,Brian McCrindle,a pediatric cardiologist at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto,said in an interview that one in five teenagers reports having poor sleep and regularly takes sleep medication. Lack of sleep is an important risk factor for developing childhood obesity(肥胖),which can lead to premature(早期的)heart disease,research shows.Obesity contributes to several risk factors for the condition such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol. McCrindles study of 1,600 Grade 9 Toronto students,average age 14 and 15,showed sleep patterns disturbed by staying up to watch television,play video or computer games,and social networking. Poor sleep correlated with higher weight and body mass index,blood pressure,cholesterol and other poor health conditions,including poor food choices and lack of physical activity.Many reported difficulty staying awake during the day
