2003年第12期 外 语 与 外 语 教 学 2003 , №12 总 第 177 期 Foreign Languages and Their Teaching Serial №177 汉语“把”字句特点、分布及英译 柯 　飞 (北京外国语大学中国外语教育研究中心 ,北京 　100089) 　　摘 　要 :汉语“把”字句的主要功能或语法意义是“处置”。该句式的特点和作用有三 :一是将宾语提至动词前 ,解决该 宾语无法后置的问题 ;二是突出宾语 , 同时也突出动作及其后果 ;三是便于语句衔接 。本文通过大量语料考察 ,发现翻译的 汉语作品比原创的汉语作品使用更多的“把”字句 ,文学类作品比非文学类作品使用更多的“把”字句 ;这一发现进一步证明 把字句适用于表达复杂和细微的意思 。文中还讨论了英译“把”字句的方法 。 关键词 :“把”字句 ;宾语 ;分布 ;英译 　　Abstract :“Disposition ”is the major function of the Chinese Baconstruction . This paper describes the characteristics of the construc tion as 1) the obj ect moving up to a place before the verb , 2) focusing on the obj ect as well as the action and its consequence , and 3) co hesion of the sentence . An investigation based upon a parallel corpus of English / Chinese reveals that there are more Baconstructions in the translated Chinese than in the original Chinese , and in the literary texts than in the nonliterary ones , which confirms the opinion that the Chinese Baconstruction tends to be used to convey more complex and sophisticated meanings. Different ways to translating Baconstruc tion into English are exemplified in detail .
