My English Learning Strategies First speaking of “strategies”, my mind stuck in confusion as I’m never a boy patient enough to make a plan before learning something I’m interest in. Though, something I’m doing is definitely making me an idiomatical English speaker. First, I have the habit of soliloquizing, with English! It may sound weird, but by every means it’s a good way to practice spoken English, especially when you’re too shy to speak to others. By talking to myself, I’m using this language more and more skillfully and speaking more fluently. Second, the strong interests in the culture of the western world are always keeping me passionate in learning English. Picking up a language can be really tough and boring, though, sometimes mechanically memorizing is necessary and effective. The desire of knowing more about British culture is pushing me to put down every word I meet and engrave it on my memory. Last but not least, I spend a lot of time on English movies and TV programs. By listening to native speakers speaking, I get chances to correct my pronunciation and develop a better sense of English. To sum up, my secret in learning English lies in more speaking, more listening and more memorizing.
