Good morning, it’s my honor to be here to talk about my teaching design. Today’s lesson is Module 11 The weather Unit 1 It may be cold tomorrow. At the very beginning, let’s have a brief overview. It’s made up of 4 parts. Part 1,2,3,4. Now let’s get it started.
Part 1 The analysis of the teaching material.
1st, the status and roles of the teaching material.
This lesson is about listening and speaking. The topic of this module is the weather. I design kinds of activities about listening and speaking which refer to the weather. The grammar of this module is about the modal verbs. This unit leads students to learn the whole module. Of course, it plays an important role in the whole book.
2nd, teaching aims.
Knowledge is to have a good command of the words, expressions and sentence structures. Such as, shower, freezing, temperature, must, may, might and so on.
Ability aim is to enable students get useful information about the weather while listening and talk about the weather with may, might and must.
Emotion aim is to make students love the nature and be ready to help others in trouble.
3rd, important and difficult points.
Important points: vocabularies, expressions and structures, forecast the weather.
Difficult points: forecast the weather.
That’s all about part 1, now let’s move on to part 2.
Part 2 Teaching methods.
Take students as the main body, task as the main line. I choose ‘communicate- interactive’ approach with multi-medium. To carry out my teaching ideas, proper methods are necessary. Such as brain-storming, listening and forecasting the weather.
Part 3 Learning methods.
As we all know, students of Grade 8 are active and willing to show off their personalities. I design kinds of activities to provide them enough chances to improve them. Such as, pair work, group work, discussion and so on.
Part 4 Teaching procedures.
Step 1: Greeting and warming-up.
1st, greeting.
2nd, a words game to revision the words of Unit 1.
3rd, know about the weather signs.
