Power semiconductor device is its core technology. The evolution and revolution of power semiconductor devices are the fundamental driving forces ( behind the development of PE. In this paper, the status and ) development of modern power semiconductor devices, especially SiC/GaN power devices were reviewed and some important emerging power electronic application areas such as green energy, electrical vehicles, and LED lighting were discussed.
