Abstract
Excessive use of fossil fuels has been to detriment of environmental, and now fossil fuels face the threat of depletion. Algae has
received much more attention as the most potential feedstock for renewable biofuel. Microalgae lipid is the main substance to
produce biofuel influenced by many factors including medium composition, temperature, and light, pH value, training methods
and salinity, which is the focus of this paper. Oil extraction has been a key technology of bio-energy industry. Since microalgae
cells are usually characterized by relatively thick cell wall, which poses much difficulty in extracting oil. Broken pretreatment is
needed before oil extraction in order to achieve high extraction efficiency. Different broken pretreatment and oil extraction
methods will cause large differences in extraction efficiency. This paper summarized the most commonly used broken
pretreatments, extraction techniques and oil extraction efficiency, and then analyzed the development of new technologies, such as
subcritical solvent extraction technology, ionic liquids extraction technology and electromagnetic pulse extraction technology; as
well as their advantages and disadvantages; further the problems that constrain microalgae industrial produc
