The result showed that the germination percentage of pollens in artificial pollination was significantly higher than that in open pollination and ger mination of pollens was restricted by surroundings . Pollen tubes reached ovule via micropyle within 72 h after artificial pollination , and pollen tubes were arrested after reached carpel in hand polli nation and there are no pollen tubes reached the base part of the style in open pollination . The phenomenon of pollen tubes arrested in two pollination style influence fructification of Vitis quinquangul ari s Rehd .
