Its heat dissipation condition has significant influences on CPU performance. especially as the power of CPU chips is getting much higher. So there is a need to solve the problem that how to adopt reasonable material and structure during design in order to improve the thermal performance of the radiator. In the paper. the finite element method is used to analyzes the thermal performance of CUP radiator. First. the FE model is set up based on the structure. materials and working condition of radiator. Then. the temperature distribution and heat gradient are calculated. Finally. study on the relationship between the thermal performance and the material. size and structure is conducted. and some conclusions are reached to improve the heat dissipation condition. All the work is done by means of ANSYS.
