Geography It is the only country that occupies territory on both the mainland and insular regions of Southeast Asia. It is separated by the South China Sea into two regions, Peninsular Malaysia and Malaysian Borneo (also known as West and East Malaysia respectively). Geography Western Malaysia is on the southern tip of the Malay peninsula, and stretches from the Thai border to the island of Singapore. Eastern Malaysia includes the territories of Sabah (沙巴州)and Sarawak (沙捞越) on the north end of Borneo, separated by the country of Brunei. Climate Malaysia is hot and humid all the year round (typical tropical climate) with a temperature of 20℃-30℃, and a humidity level of 90%(humid all around the year). The rain forests and other tropical vegetation thrive in the hot and humid climate and are fed by the wet seasons. Approximately two-thirds of Malaysia is forest, with the majority of it being tropical rain forest. There are diversified vegetations and wildlife. East Malaysia is known for having one of the largest and most varied bird population in the world. Population Malaysia is a multi-racial country whose population consists of the main racial groups of Malays, Chinese and Indians, living together with a very diverse group of indigenous people.
