The e ducation in school and university during Middle Ages plays an important role in the conservation of European cul ture . In fact , only by deeply understanding actual condition of European culture during Middle Ages can we arrive at the correct interpretation of the evolution of European history. Key words : Europe ; the Middle Ages ; education ; school ; university 自西方近代史学兴起以来 , 传统上对欧洲历史的解释 , 大都视中世纪为西方文化发展的 一个中断 , 认为这是一个文化黑暗时期 。这种解释得到了多数史家的认同 , 直到今天 , 这种 解释的基本构架也没有动摇 。然而 , 值得我们思考的是 , 在长达千年的中世纪时期 , 欧洲的 文化究竟通过什么方式得以延续 ? 笔者认为 , 欧洲中世纪的学校教育在欧洲文化的传承中起 了重要作用 。因此 , 本文试图对欧洲中世纪学校教育的发展阶段 、基本形式 、教学内容以及 ① 影响作一些初步的探讨 , 以期对欧洲中世纪文化的实际状况有较为具体的了解 。 一 、修道院中的学生
