Chinese College Female teachers of the Progress and Problems
[Abstract] Chinese women since 1995, serving as teaching positions in colleges and universities showed positive trends. But the woman teacher qualifications, professional titles is low, the low level of participation in higher education management, social identity and low self-esteem, discipline distribution of gender segregation, leading to the status quo the status of female teachers in Chinese universities poor, which the state, society, colleges and universities should update the concept of to legal protection as a prerequisite for female teachers in colleges and universities to create a fair competitive environment to fully exploit the potential of women teachers, so that more female teachers to display their talent in order to improve and enhance China’s overall position of women teachers in colleges and universities.

Abstract: This paper narrates the process that Chinese women took up teacher post in China institutions of higher learning since 1995. It also discusses the status of women teachers in China institutions of higher learning. In the end, the countermeasures for improving women teachers’ status are provided.

1995 World Conference on Women held in Beijing, China’s political, economic, science and technology has undergone major changes, higher education have also been an overall change. This gives women teachers in Chinese universities has brought opportunities and challenges. In this paper, women in China after 1995 as a university teacher posts a description of the development process, focusing on revealing the relationship with the development of higher education, and attention to the current reform of higher education for women as the impact of university teaching posts.
