Abstract: Computer technology is the foundation of modern information science and technology, computer technology, basic computer education in colleges and universities have also raised new challenges and requirements. In this paper, a computer-based teaching are analyzed and discussed, and how to improve the quality of the computer-based instruction conducted in-depth thinking.

1 Introduction
With the application of computer technology spread throughout the world is entering the information age, “computer competency” has become a university student knowledge and skills an important part of the structure. All colleges and universities in teacher training, laboratory construction and other aspects have greater input in making basic computer education to flourish. However, with in-depth development of computer education, computer-based teaching is facing a number of outstanding issues.
2 Current Status of Computer-based teaching
2.1 The compulsory for all students
The ever-changing face of computer applications, basic computer education in colleges and universities have also raised new challenges and requirements. Present and future computers will gradually change people’s lifestyles and working methods, as people live, work, study and an indispensable tool. Computer Applications capacity will be one of the people’s viability. Successful handling of the computer-based teaching, can greatly enhance the competitiveness of graduates. At present, the country’s major colleges, computer-based courses have become a compulsory subject in public.
2.2 Curriculum
