Development of private universities from Japan to see the future direction of development of the University of Abstract: In different countries, private institutions of higher education institutional basis for the government and the rule of law a reasonable relationship between universities, university governance, university financial management was a clear trend of diversity. These trends reflect the national history of the development of private higher education and their assigned social functions. This article discusses the Japanese government and the private higher education institutions in the inter-university relations, governance structures and financial management of the unique nature of this basis to analyze the future direction of development of private higher education in Japan.
