Conference history and EI/SCi indexing th The 5 International Conference on Advanced Design and Manufacturing (ADM2013) will take place in th th st nd rd th Valencia, Spain, 27 -30 September 2013. ADM2013 will follow the success of its previous 1 , 2 , 3 and 4 conferences held in 2006, 2009, 2010 and 2011. As prestigious conferences, the ADM2009, ADM2010 and ADM2011 conference papers were all published as volumes 419-420, 450 and 486 of the refereed journal ‘Key Engineering Materials’ (/KEM.419-420, /KEM.450 and /KEM.486). The journal is indexed by SCOPUS, EI Compendex and other major abstract media; extended versions of selected ADM2010 and ADM2011 papers have been published in the International Journal of Design Engineering (Inderscience); the ADM2006 attracted about 600 abstracts, and about 190 high quality papers were finally selected for presentation at the conference, of which about
