bstrac:tBuckling-restrainedsteelplateshearwall(BR-SPSW)hasbeenproventobeaneffectivecomponentfor
resistinglateralforceanddissipatingseismicenergy.Howeve,rperformancesofmoment-resistingframestructureswith
steelplateshearwall,sespeciallytheinteractionsbetweenthewallsandtheframesremaintobeinvestigated. n
experimentalstudyonaframestructurewithBR-SPSW undercyclicloadingwascarriedou,tandasacontrasttwo
moreexpermientsonframestructureswithnon-stiffenedandcompositeSPSW wereconducted. finiteelement
analysisonthethreeSPSW specimenswasmade, andthedifferencesbetweenthethreekindsofSPSWswere
discussed.ItisshownthatframestructureswithBR-SPSW havelittlebucklingnoiseunderlateralforce, andpossess
betterstiffnes,slargerultimateloadingcapacit,ybetterductilityandmorestablehysteresisenergyperformancethan
framestructureswithnon-stiffenedSPSW.Withitsyieldinghappensbeforebuckling, theunfavorableeffectonthe
adjacentcolumnsinducedbyBR-SPSW issubstantiallylowerthannon-stiffenedSPSW.CompositeSPSWshavesimilar
performanceswithBR-SPSW,sbutafterthecoveredconcretesplitsfromtheinfillsteelplat,etensionfieldwhich
bringsadditionalmomentstotheframecolumnsappearsinthesteelplate, andultimateload, stiffnessandenergy-
dissipatingabilityofthewallalldegeneratesimultaneously.
