Unit5 Do you have a soccer ball?
一、Type of lesson: Listening and Speaking
二、The analysis of teaching material:
1. All of talking about kinds of balls in this unit.
2. It can help students know about kinds of balls’ name.
3. To enrich students’ interest and knowledge on balls.
三、The analysis of students:
1. There are about 50 students at a class, junior1 and they had learned English for 4 years.
2. They can understand the simple expressions during class.
3. These students are active and lively, curious but scatterbrained, so we should combine games with other teaching methods in the teaching activities.
四、The teaching aims:
1. Knowledge aims: A .The students can identify the new words: sports, tennis ball, ping-pong, soccer, volleyball, basketball, TV…
B. The students can understand the meaning of these target language: “Do you have a ping-pong bat?”“Yes, I do. / No, I don’t. I have a ping-pong ball.”“”Does she have a tennis ball?”“No, she doesn’t , she has a baseball.”
2. Ability aims: The students can communicate with others by use the target language in English.
3. Emotion aims: The students can use the target language to ask and answer the questions with their classmates.
五、The key point: Understand the meaning of the new words and the target language.
六、The difficult point: Use the target language “Do you have a … ”to ask the question and use “Yes /No, I have … ”to answer the questions in English.
七、Teaching methods: Turnip-squat game, guessing game, role play, TPR.
八、Teaching aids: Pictures, tape recorder, word-cards.
九、Teaching procedure:
Stage1: Lead in (3 minutes ):Turnip-squat game: table down, table down, table down then bed down. Bed down, bed down, bed down then sofa down. Sofa down, sofa down, sofa down then chair down, chair down, chair down then desk down. Desk down, desk down, desk down then room down.
(Purpose: 1. To review these words last lesson they had learned. 2.To stimulate students’ learning interest.)
