In a sense, as cities shift from new development to built-up area renovation, planning at all levels will focus on regeneration. Presently, built-up area planning faces miscellaneous subjects, status quo, implementation problems. It is imperative to set up an integrate policy, information, and platform system to update and evaluate the plans. Shenzhen sets up “one book, one drawing, and one diagram” system for built-up area planning update, and provides a reference for other cities.
