Abstract: A hybrid algorithm of combining heuristic recursive algorit hm w ith immune clone algorithm was presented for
solving the guillot ine rectangular cutting problem. Firstly , a recursive algorithm of heuristic was proposed for conver-
ting all rectangle part s to the st rips of high utilization ratio. Secondly , t he immune clone algorithm w as used and the
optimal order of these strips w as obtained for minimizing the quantit y of boards. Tw o typical examples w ere computed
and t he results w ere com pared with that of other related papers. The results indicate the effectiveness and efficiency of
the algorithm.
