In order to protect thepagoda is effectively, the large-scale finite elem ent soft-wareANSYS is used to establish amodelbased on the investigation and analysis of earthquake damage. A modal analysis and a transientanalysis are then conducted. The displacement of the structure and the inter-driftof the floors are ca-l culated by inputting different seism icwaves. It is shown through the results that the upper displacements are lar- ger and that the largest inter-drift of the tower occurs in theweak layer of fifth, sixth floor.
