We live in a colorful world, and words denoting colors for part of the nuclear vocabulary of almost every language. Color terms are very important in both English and Chinese literature. Many book titles contain color terms. The Chinese 绿、青、蓝 are three colors, but their corresponding words in English are only two: “green” and “blue”.
