It means to reconstruct the relations among central and local govemments , teacher education institutions and the society , whose basic features are joint participation and c∞peration among such plural agents of power and interests. There is an urgent practical motivation and important academic value to deepen studies focusing on real problems during Chinese teacher education institutional changes and aiming at perfecting structure and optimizing mechanism of Chinese teacher education regulation. Future studies should extend perspectives and strengthen the empirical research based on Chinese local practices of teacher education reform , so as to provide a solid academic foundation for Chinese teacher educa- tlOn govemance.
