Customizing SPS and WSS is possible in various ways: 1. This can be achieved via IE by the users themselves for web parts we make available to them. These user customizable web parts (as far as the programmer allows in its design) extend the UI by providing functionality such as connectivity to Exchange, SAP, or any web based services. 2. More flexibility in controlling the UI is possible via FrontPage which integrates fully with SharePoint as we can see in this slide. 3.
