Abstract: In order to improve the recovery ratio of metal elements like Fe and Ni from Philippines nickeliferous later
ite and meltin conditions, ortho onal experiments were desi ned to investi ate the effects of temperature, addition
of carbon and sla basicity on the recovery results and t he content of Fe and Ni in the metal. It shows that the tem
perature is more si nif icant than the carbon addition and sla basicit y on the recovery ratio of Fe and Ni. The recov
ery ratio of Fe and Ni is hi her, which are close t o t he theoret ical values calculated w ith Fact sa e, w hen the tempera
ture is 1550 , basicity is 1. 1 and the carbon dosa e is 6. 0% . On the other hand, basicity is more si nif icant than
the temperature and the carbon addition on the Fe and Ni cont ent in the metal. The Fe and Ni content in the metal
are hi her when basicit y is 1. 1 and the tem perat ure is 1550 .
