ABSTRACT Based on the theory of the ergonomics and biomechanics, this paper does the relevant research into the bicycle design methods for customers. Based on the dynamic simulation of human – bicycle coupled model, this paper uses the method of data mining to establish the function of best size relationship between human and bicycle, then uses the bike platform to verify the result. Full contents and conclusions are summarized as follows. (1) A human body model is created using the biomechanical simulation software and a bicycle model is created u sing the three-dimensional software. Ultimately human body model is coupled with the bicycle model using the dynamic simulation software to simulate the dynamic riding. (2) According to the evaluation of the muscle fatigue proposed by Crownishield R.D., dynamic simulation data is processed using genetic algorithms based on neural network in the mathematical software. Ultimately the function of best size relationship between human and bicycle is established using the statistical analysis software. (3) According to the tester ’s height, a bike is processed using the function formula. Then the tester ’s riding data is analyzed. The conclusion confirmed that the function formula is correct under that height. (4) In order to prove the general applicability of the function formula, a bike platform which is convenient to adjust the position of the saddle and the handlebar is designed. Three testers of different height are selected to do the riding experiment under different position. The experimental data verify that the function formula is correct.
