In this rese rch, the ch r cteristics of Hg ccumul tion in veget ble nd the contribution of t mosphere nd soil to veget ble Hg were studied by field observ tion nd pot experiments. 11 kinds of veget ble w ere experimented in field. The results indic ted th t t he Hg contents in roots nd le ves of veget bles were higher th n t h t in stems nd fruits. In the n tur l condit ion, more th n 60% of the ssimil ted Hg w s distributed in t he upground edible p rts. T he results of pot experiments show ed t h t t he Hg content of the edible p rts of c rrot nd lettuce exceed ed the Food He th St nd rd V lue ( FA SV) , when the tmospheric Hg content re ched 576 ! 147 ng∀m- 3 . This result indicted th t the contribution of tmosphere nd soil to veget ble Hg were 704~ 907% nd 93~ 296% respectively. So, the veget ble Hg w s ffected m inly by tmosphere Hg.
