Transformer faults are often divided into two kinds: internal and external faults. The internal faults are all kinds of faults in the transformer oil tank; the external faults are the faults of the insulated bushing and its lead out line of the transformer oil tank. This paper mainly analyzes the inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting methods of transformer operation, which can be used for reference by the vast number of technical counterparts. The operator on duty shall monitor and inspect the running condition of the transformer at any time. By changing the phenomenon of transformer vibration, sound, smell, color, temperature and external conditions, to determine whether the abnormal analysis, location and degree of reason, abnormal operation, in order to take corresponding measures. (1) check whether the upper oil temperature exceeds the allowable range. (2) check the oil quality, should be transparent, microstrip yellow, which can determine the quality of oil. (3) the casing shall be checked for cleanliness, cracks and discharge traces, and the cooling device shall be in normal condition. (4) the sound of the transformer should be normal.
