Abstract Shanghai has been influenced by western in technology, culture and many other aspects since the late Qing dynasty. Shanghai is one of the core of Chinese textile bases in the middle of 20th century and it plays important lead role for other area in dyeing and printing technology and design level. Another important reason is: at that time, Shanghai has a large number of the national top level of printing and dyeing designer group.
