Chinese Language Course Outline Level 3 CHINESE LEVEL 3 汉语三级 OBJECTIVES Chinese Beginners Level 3 enhances both students’ knowledge and conversational skills of Chinese language skills. In this course students will learn and practice daily topics of direction, location and health. The 8-week course covers the contents of Units 7-9 of the textbook “Experiencing Chinese”. When completing the course, learners will be able to: (1) ask for directions and places; (2) describe the location of things; (3) ask about and describe one’s health. LEARNERS Beginners who have finished the first 6 units of Experiencing Chinese Book 1 and with a vocabulary of approximately 150 words. COURSE OUTLINE Text Book: Experiencing Chinese 体验汉语 Living in China Session 1 一直走Go straight ahead. Review the sentences learned in Units 1-6 in general. Vocabulary: 英国人、现在、星期、便宜、斤、卖、花茶、工作、老师、打电话 Patterns: 你好！你是哪国人？现在几点？今天几号？苹果多少钱一斤？你家有几口人？你今年 多大？ Unit 7, Vocabulary(p78): 司机、公司、知道、那儿、走、一直、到 Session 2 您去哪？Where are you going? Unit 7, Dialogue 1 (p 77-82) Dialogue 1 (p 82) 去…怎么走？到红绿灯往右拐。一直走。 Focus: Sentences of asking the way/directions. Session 3 你每天怎么去上班? How do you go to work everyday?
