Abstract Extraction process with or without additives are employed to removal contaminants in soil. Additive which
include surfactantsorganic and inorganic acidscomplexing agents such as EDTAand so onis one of limited factors
in flushing remediation technologyIt has been demonstrated high contaminants removal rates are possible by using
surfactantsThe addition of the surfactants can accelerate remediation workThis paper provides an overview of the
function of surfactants in soil remediationFunction of surfactants for remediation of NAPLs include enhancing the
solubility of the NAPLsincreasing NAPLs adsorption on soil and improving bioavailability of the NAPLswhile ion
