It is situated in the heart of Beijing. Tiananmen was builtin 1417 and was the entrance gate to the Forbidden City. Now the square stretches 880 meters from north to south and 500 meters from east to west. The total area is 440,000 square meters.Thats about the size of 60 soccer fields, spacious enough to accommodate half a million people. 天安门广场是世界上最大的广场之一。他坐落在北京市中心。天安门广场建于141年，位于紫禁城的入口处。现在，天安门广场南北长880米，东西宽500米，总面积达44万平方米。相当于60个足球场的大小，足可以容纳100万人。 毛主席纪念堂 2 Chairman Mao’s Memorial Hall The Chairman Mao Memorial Hall stands on the former sits of Tiananmen Square between the Monument to the Peoples Heroes and Zhengyangmen Gate. The memorial hall is shaped like a square with coverage of 20,000 square meters and a height of 33.6 meters.
