We also call it 冰上溜石. It began in Scotland in the 14th century. Now , its one of the activities in the WinterOlympic Games,and it also has its own World Champinship. Each group of this activity has four members. The rock is circle ,and it is made of a special type of granite from Scotland. The perimeter of the rock is almost 91cm long and 11cm high. Its very heavy, its about 20 kilos. Curling Curling’s history In 1795 , the first curling club was set up in Scotland. In 1838, the first competiton rule of curling was born. In 1955, curling was known in Asia, it was in fashion espeically in Japan and Korea. In 1986, the world champinship of curling was set up. In 1998, surling was known as an avtivity in the Winter Olympics. The curling field It is a sheet(冰道);it is 44.5 meters long and 4.33 meters wide. There is a house (圆垒)on each side of the sheet. Hacks(起蹬器) are fixed at two ends. Lines(前，后卫线) between two houses. Stones （石球,冰壶）; Special shoes;(冰壶用鞋） Brooms(冰刷). What things should curling players take? Four Players The thrower(掷球员) throws stone from the hack. The skip(主将), is stationed behind the button to determine the strategies. Two sweepers(刷冰员) may sweep in front of the stone to influence the trajectory(轨道). How to play There are ten small games in a whole competition. Every player throw two rocks in a small game . The winner group gets the highest scores. The game begin,a thrower throw a rock to the house, then the sweepers sweep the ice to make the rock hit another groups ball out of the house and keep our rocks in the houses and close the middle of the houses.
