In 2003 she moved to Sydney, Australia, where she has also worked as a Biostatistician in observational research and public health at the Cancer Institute New South Wales (NSW). Helen was the Chief Investigator for New South Wales, Australia for the International Collaborative Group on Observational Studies of Breast Cancer Survivors (COBS) study. She has also worked in the molecular profiling of breast tumours at a biotech company based at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney and in the Bioinformatics department at Pfizer, UK. Helen Barraclough is the Group Leader of Oncology Statistics for the Asia Pacific region at Eli-Lilly and Company. Helen leads a team of four statisticians based in Australia, China and Japan. The team supports registration, reimbursement and commercialization phase II-IV oncology clinical trials. Helen is well regarded internationally for teaching statistics to non-statisticians. She has presented workshops in Australia, Korea, China, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Thailand, Egypt, Turkey and the USA. She is currently writing a statistics educational series for Journal of Thoracic Oncology in collaboration with Prof. Ramaswamy Govindan, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis, USA, of which the first article was published in May 2010.
